【武庫川女子大学】経営学部の学生8人が、重要文化財「奥田邸」の活用方法を考える実践学習に取り組みました。

重要文化財に指定されている奥田邸の活用方法を考える実践学習に経営学部の学生8人が取り組み、12月3日、最終発表を行いました。

奥田邸は大阪市平野区にある現存する数少ない江戸時代の大庄屋のお屋敷です。奥田家が個人で所有を続け、「奥田邸保存会」として維持・保存するとともに、月に一度一般公開しています。奥田邸保存会の「もっと幅広い人たちに奥田邸をより身近に感じてもらい、新たな価値を生み出したい」という声を受け、経営学部が活用方法を考えるプロジェクトに取り組みました。

学生たちは奥田邸で1日過ごし、江戸時代の生活を体験。その後2チームに分かれて奥田邸を活用するアイデアを考えました。

両チームとも、まず古民家資料館や古民家カフェを回るフィールドワークを実施しました。Aチームは古民家を海外の文化と融合させている実例をヒントに、世界のイベントを子ども向けに行おうと考えました。近隣の小学1～3年生の保護者にアンケートを実施し、「有料でも実現可能」との手ごたえを得たことから、「Okuda‘s Home Party」として、季節ごとにイースターやハロウィン、クリスマスなどのイベントを行うことを提案しました。

Bチームは「昔と今が人を紡ぐ」をテーマに、20～50歳代の女性をターゲットにした「大人の校外学習」を考えました。大型連休などに、テーマに沿った複数の講座を奥田邸で開講。「花」をテーマに生け花、フラワーアレンジメント、盆栽などの講座を設けたり、日本茶、紅茶、台湾茶など「茶」をテーマにしたりすることを、宣伝方法や講師の依頼なども含めて提案しました。

最終発表に参加した奥田邸保存会からは「海外というと外国人を招いてのイベントしか念頭になかったが、もっと広い意味での活用があると気づいた」、「海外由来の行事と聞いて発想の転換ができた」などのコメントがありました。

活動した学生からは、「アンケートを取るのが大変だったが、古民家は調べたら周りにたくさんあって、身近に感じることができた」、「講座の料金を設定するのに苦労したが、勉強になりました」などの声が聞かれました。指導した神栄美穂准教授は「奥田邸のように立派なお屋敷をもっとたくさんの人に知ってもらい、古き良きものを見直すきっかけになってくれれば」と話しています。

On December 8th, eight students delivered a final presentation in the Project Based Learning assignment.  

Okuda residence is one of the few residences from the Edo era that is still in existence. It’s located in Hirano ward in Osaka city. The “Okuda Residence Preservation Society” is ran and owned by the Okuda descendants and opens it to the public to visit once a month.

The Okuda family was a village headman of Kurazukuri from ancient times. It is not known when the present residence was constructed but we are able to find the characteristics of the big farmhouse in the early years of the Edo era. There are few private houses as such in Osaka City constructed in those days. We are able to see the precious view of such residence by its building lot, the main building, rooms, the Nagaya gate and the barn.

The idea of “wanting more people to get in contact with the property and find a sense of value in it” was brought to the students of the Business Administration and they came together to discuss on what they can do to help. The students went to the site themselves to get the feel of the place. Then they split into two groups and started on how to better utilize the residence. Both teams conducted fieldwork around museums and cafes and carried on their project.
