【武庫川女子大学】建築学研究科 景観建築学専攻の学生チームが国際都市デザインコンペで佳作を受賞しました！

A team of students majoring in landscape architecture at the Graduate school of Architecture won an honorable mention at the International Urban Design competition.

景観建築学専攻の大学院生が夏期学内インターンシップにおいて、韓国大邱市で開催された国際都市デザインコンペ「International Idea Competition for K-2 Brownfield」に参加しEncouragement Prize (佳作)に入選しました。
大邱市は韓国内陸部に位置する人口250万人の大都市で市内北東部に空軍基地があります。この空軍基地の移転に伴う跡地に未来都市を建設する壮大な構想があり、市政府は世界中からアイディアを募集しました。

インターンシップに参加した学生20人は、それぞれのアイディアをスケッチやCG（コンピュータグラフィックス）で表現し一つの構想にまとめました。韓国の伝統的な組み紐のネックレス「Maedeup」からヒントを得た、小さな街とそれをつなぐ公共交通からなる人間中心のまちづくりです。近くを流れる河から水を引いて水と緑をふんだんに配置しました。

9月13日パネル提出のあと、第1次審査で20位以内通過、その後アニメーションを追加提出しました。日頃の授業や演習での成果が十分に発揮された質の高い作品となり、11月1日に行われた最終審査で、応募総数約200の中から10位以内に入選し、Encouragement Prize (佳作)を受賞しました。
建築とランドスケープを同時に学ぶ景観建築学科の教育方針とレベルの高さが世界でも通用することが実感できた瞬間でした。

A number of graduate students doing a summer internship, participated in the “International Idea Competition for K-2 Brownfield”, an international city design competition held in Daegu, South Korea. They have been selected for the Encouragement Prize. Daegu is a large city located in the inland of South Korea with a population of 2.5 million. It has an air force base in the northeastern part of the city. The city council solicited ideas from around the world with the grand idea of building a city of the future on the site of the relocation of this air force base.

The 20 students who participated in the internship expressed their ideas with sketches and CG and put them together in one concept. Inspired by the traditional Korean braided necklace, maedeup which is known as ancient Korean art of intricate ornamental knot making, often used with clothing and decorating home interiors.  The charm of maedeup lies in its unique structure and clean knots, striking a balance between order and form. The inspiration of maedeup is restructured into a community-centered town development consisting of a small town and a public transportation that connects it. The sketch shows a river in the middle and plenty of water and greenery.

Once passing the first screening after submitting the panel sketch on September 13th, and securing a place in the top 20, the student submitted additional visuals, click here. On the final screening day, the piece was placed in top 10 out of 200 applicants

The Encouragement Prize was awarded for the hard work that demonstrates the effort and time put in day in day out. It was a moment of realization for the faculty and staff to be made aware of the high level of studies that goes on and that it can be referred to as world-class.
